Het is al meer dan een jaar geleden dat de laatste NNC Cup is gehouden. De NNC Cup was een initiatief dat ons altijd bij zal blijven. De kern van de NNC Cup was een jaarlijks gehouden competitie voor NNC leden. Dit toernooi is 3 maal gehouden in de zomer in Nederland, Almere.De eerste editie was een toernooi met de sport takken voetbal en basketbal. De daarop volgende edities waren alleen basketbal toernooien. Hier wat highlights van de laatste NNC Cup (Deel 3).

De toekomst van dit prachtige inititatief is nog onduidelijk. Een mogelijke Surifatu BBQ Compa is mogelijk een idee. Ook zijn Bruine Bonen Wars aangekondigd. Door de toenemde leeftijd en luiheid van de voormalig NNC leden en veranderende gezinssituaties is de kans groter dat er steeds minder sport takken zullen zijn. De voortzetting van dit initatief hangt van verschillende zaken af en moet nog kritisch bekeken worden.

Manne's World: Bruine Bonen Wars
The kitchen of Suriname has among it's many treasures a dish called 'Bruine Bonen met Rijst' or 'BB met R' or simply BBR for short. This simple, but delicius dish consists of brown beans and meat and is served with rice. It is incredibly easy to cook, but very tasteful nonetheless. It is also the focal point of the Surifatu culinary experience for those very reasons.
Every Surifatu Man is thoroughly convinced that his BBR is superior. At first, this notion and the competitive spirit in the group resulted in what can only be described as a thinly disguised cook off. One friend would invite the group over to play X Box and another one would be in the kitchen working on his secret recepy and tweeking it to perfection. If it tasted good enough to result in praise from his fellow Surifatu Men, another would head down to the store the very next time we all met and head for the kitchen with intensity.
